A food manufacturing customer used thread tape to seal its stainless-steel pipe fittings, but quickly began the search for a replacement when hanging tape resulted in a less than satisfactory report. The tape also resulted in frequent leaks and posed contamination risks during the tightening process as it sometimes shreds, entering the system.
