The fast and reliable way to bond substrates

Instant adhesives are ideal for production lines and repair shops that require one- or two-component room temperature curing solutions. LOCTITE® instant adhesives are easy to apply manually or with dispensing equipment on automated lines.

LOCTITE® instant adhesives are typically used for high-performance bonding of materials in just seconds. Our range includes adhesives for rubber, polystyrene, wood, metal and even the latest generation plastics. With a wide range of viscosities available, there are instant adhesives for any workflow—from conventional bonding to gap filling and sealing.

It's crucial to get the right instant bond adhesive to suit your needs as each performs differently, depending on the materials to be bonded and the conditions they are subjected to. Each of our LOCTITE® products has attributes that make them ideal for specific applications. Substrate compatibility and fixture times may also be crucial to successful bonding but, whatever your requirements, the LOCTITE® team is always on hand to offer advice and guidance on the best instant adhesive for your design, process, or industry.

Explore the different types of instant adhesives

Cyanoacrylates are thermoplastic adhesives from Henkel that are made for fast setting and strong bonding. Offering fixture times as low 5 seconds, temperature tolerances between -65°F and 275°F, and shear strengths of up to 3,760 PSI, our range of instant adhesives can be used within demanding applications and environments, with different types manufactured for optimal integration. Explore the range below and partner with Henkel for superior instant adhesive solutions.

Cyanoacrylate adhesives (CA adhesives)

Cyanoacrylate instant adhesives, or CA adhesives, fixture rapidly and require minimal clamping time to reach full strength. Whether used manually or integrated into existing production lines, our one-part cyanoacrylate instant adhesives, deliver superior bonding for a broad range of substrates including metal, plastic, and rubber.

Two-part cyanoacrylate adhesives

Two-part cyanoacrylate instant adhesives deliver increased control over application in areas where repair and assembly require fast, rigid bonds. These two-part solutions provide gap filling in excess of 0.010” on a wide range of materials which enables greater flexibility in design and manufacturing of components.

Instant adhesive gel

Instant adhesive gels provide rapid fixturing across a range of metal, wood, paper, fabric, leather, rubber, ceramic, and most plastics. Used in areas where running or dripping of the adhesive may cause production issues, the high viscosity enables both manual and automated assembly in diverse applications where resistance to humidity and environmental conditions is required.

Instant bond adhesives

Instant bond adhesives are the fastest setting adhesives around, providing high-performance bonding in seconds. Available in a range of formulations, instant adhesives provideexcellent strength and resistance on a range of common substrates. Additionally, they can be used manually or integrated into existing production lines.

Applications

Instant adhesives are used in a broad range of applications in almost every industry, with flexible processes ensuring that LOCTITE® solutions can be tailored to your requirements. Whether in aerospace and automotive industries or used within medical device and equipment manufacturing, high-strength and versatility are hallmarks of our portfolio.

Rubber bonding

Rubber bonding instant adhesives and rubber to rubber bonding solutions provide fast and secure adhesion for nitrile, butyl, polyurethane, silicone, EPDM, and natural rubbers. Highly durable and designed to minimize cracking both during and after application, these instant adhesives are ideal for maintenance and repair.

Plastic bonding

Instant adhesives for plastics ensure fast, strong, and flexible adhesion for diverse plastic-based materials. Including solutions for challenging materials suchas polypropylene and polyethylene, the LOCTITE® range of instant adhesives for plastics includes gap filling formulas and two-part plastic adhesives for ultimate process and assembly adaptability.

Metal bonding

LOCTITE® Instant adhesives for metals provide reliable solutions for joining or repairing mechanical parts, components, small appliances, and many other metallic materials. Fast fixturing and featuring superior weather and moisture resistance, these instant adhesives deliver durable bonds in demanding environments.

Light curing instant adhesives

LOCTITE® light curing cyanoacrylates offer the unique combination of the benefits of traditional instant adhesives and those of light curing technology. Adhesive within transparent components or fully exposed bond lines will cure tack-free in less than 5 seconds upon exposure to low intensity UV or visible light. These adhesives eliminate the need for solvent-borne accelerators and minimize stress cracking and blooming (a whiteness around the bondline), due to their “instant” fixturing. The traditional instant adhesive moisture cure allows adhesive in shadowed areas where light cannot reach to also cure completely.
